Work Groups
There are a wide array of agencies and organizations that contribute to the Lake Tahoe Basin restoration effort.  These agencies and organizations have been instrumental in developing and enforcing policy, organizing and conducting monitoring activities, and implementing programs and projects to improve the overall quality of the Lake Tahoe Basin environment.

Managing and maintaining Lake Tahoe's extensive resources requires coordination and collaboration among the many Federal, State, tribal, and local entities – including business owners and resident groups – within the Basin. Many of these agencies and organizations are working together on joint activities such as the development of the Lake Tahoe "Total Maximum Daily Load" (TMDL), cooperatively rewriting their management plans through the "Pathway" effort, implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs), and coordinating on Forest Fuels and Defensible Space Treatments.
